Pick-up from your hotel or airport between 6:45 and 7:00 am will begin your full-day excursion through the famous “Valley of the Incas.” You will visit the town of Chinchero, its typical market and fair, followed by a tour of Moray and the salt mines. Afterward, you will continue to Urubamba (where you will have a buffet lunch) and visit the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. Then, you will continue to Machu Picchu on the Vistadome Observatory train departing at 15:37 pm. Your hotel accommodation is included.
Departure from the hotel at 7:30 am. Our staff will transfer you to the bus station for your trip to Machu Picchu, where you will enjoy a 3-hour guided tour exploring its streets, plazas, urban and agricultural zones. You will have free time to take photos before returning to Aguas Machu Picchu town for lunch. After lunch, you will board the 15:42 pm Expeditions train back to Ollantaytambo, where you will be transferred by private transport to your hotel in Cusco.
This day begins with a pick-up from your hotel between 4:30 and 5:00 am. We will board our vehicle and travel northwest of Cusco to the town of Mollepata. This journey showcases the lush Apurímac River Valley.
In this small and picturesque town, we will enjoy a well-deserved breakfast to energize ourselves. Afterward, we will continue our journey to the starting point of the trek, the village of Soraypampa, located at an altitude of 3,900 meters above sea level. After a short rest, we will begin our trek to Humantay Lake, situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level. After an approximately 1 hour and 20 minute ascent, we will be able to appreciate the breathtaking scenery. Following an explanation from our guide and time for taking souvenir photos, we will have some free time to enjoy the area before returning to our campsite for lunch with beautiful panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks. Afterward, you will be transferred back to the city of Cusco.
Pick-up from your hotel at 4:25 am / 4:45 am to travel to our first stop for breakfast in Cusi Pata. After breakfast, we’ll continue to the checkpoint for the ascent to Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain.
The hike takes approximately one hour at a leisurely pace, allowing you to appreciate the stunning scenery.
You’ll reach an altitude of 5200 meters (18,000 feet) and have the opportunity to take group or individual photos. Afterward, we’ll descend back to our transportation and return to Cusco for lunch, arriving back in the city around 16:30 pm.

Changing money on the street is risky and at banks can be expensive, but you will find change at bureaux de change throughout the urban centers where you can change money. Try to get as small bills and coins as possible, you will know that for many goods and services suppliers prefer not to have to change money.
When traveling at higher altitudes, such as Cusco, Puno and La Paz you may feel short of breath, due to the sudden change in altitude. The favorite remedy is coca tea and a day of rest for the first time, with a lot of effort and a little liquid. In more extreme cases, carry pills for altitude sickness (soroche), as well as mini-tanks of oxygen.
Cab fares at airports and bus terminals, those waiting inside the parking area may cost more than those waiting outside, but you have the security of knowing that they are registered. Taking unregistered cabs can be very dangerous in both Peru and Bolivia. Cabs do not charge by the meter, so negotiate the price before entering the cab.
It is easy to get food from street vendors if you are not careful. Actually raw products such as fruits and vegetables, which are the most likely to affect your health. Remember that tap water must be purified by boiling or tablets to be safe to drink.
Travelers planning to embark on tours in the Amazon region should prepare by getting their yellow fever and malaria vaccinations and bringing documentation with you. Those planning treks in the Andes can do well with a pre-trip check-up.
